8:25 and Fashion photos...

Kinda tired right now,
But I wanted to share these pics with you. I have been really into poring over Google Images for awesome fashion photos, which i paste on paper which i staple into my journal. Inspiration on the go. I really liked these ones - they make it to my top ten list.

1: This simple but bold dress caught my eye immediately. It's bright, cheerful, and well fit (in my opinion).

2: This was designed by the one and only Anna Sui, my favorite designer. Love the hair (not that that has anything to do with the outfit) and the boots - I wonder it they have those in size 8 women's?

3: This quirky dress is made out of china! Funnily enough, they are selling it to anyone who has $10,000. Why would anyone want a dress for ten gran that they couldn't wear without shattering?

4: Another no-shoulder dress. This one has a different feel to it than the top one though. Love the necklace, but don't you think the hem is a little high?

5: Again-who would want to wear this? Not that it doesn't look great (it does) but you can't even walk in it.

6: This isn't your typical fashion drawing, but I adore the boots and the colors in the cape really flow.

7: A whole collection, and I LOVE them all! In fact, with a couple alterations (mainly to do with hemlines) I would SO wear these.

8: Cute, girly, and to the point...but alas, that leaves the question - what is the point? Any who, I really like the embroidery!

9: Funnily enough, I actually though of making a giraffe shoe, but not quite like this one. I found it amusing that I thought of the same thing as this designer did...great minds think alike!

10: I would never, ever EVER wear this dress but I thought it look really fancy. I also love the glamorous, gold-and-gems look. What I DON'T like is the huge gaping hole in the back. Nice earrings though....

Hangout!

Is it a sin...
To have a serious hangout in my room at eight o'clock at night? I didn't think so. Relax, my bedtime isn't until nine.

Any who, at the moment, I am sitting in my beanbag (which, even though I got a YEAR ago, Walmart still carries) listening to Brain Beats, and, of course, posting on my blog through this wonderful electronic thing they call an iPad. All in all, my life quiet life is pretty good. Except for the fact that I much rather be listening to "Compass" (Lady Antebellum) or "Aw Naw" (Luke Bryan?) than "You got a right" (The Ivorys)...I mean, c'mon! iTunes cards for Christmas = happy me! And you wonder what goes on in my head....

Thanksgiving break set off a phase for me. At least, that's my theory. What I do know for sure is that I can't keep my hands off my fashion notebook. If I'm not on the computer, I'm drawing in notebook. It's PRECIOUS to me! Also, fashion speaking, I just went through a "setting the limits" phase, in which I designed a dress with wings, a metallic skin suit, a dress in the shape of a leaf, and and a dress shaped like a tree with legs, arms, and a head. No, it is not a sign I'm mad.

Now for some poetic writing, because that's what I feel like right now.

My shiny faux beanbag feels warm against my back as I snuggle under a burnt orange blanket. Around me, my room sparkles as a result of cleaning day. My plush dragon, which we found entirely by accident at Costco and I promptly named Charles Valencia Matherne, or simply Snuffles, sits on my bed with a self satisfied and toothy gin that clearly says, "ha! You're down there, and I'm up here!" The grandfather clock in the living room chimes at 8:15. The musical notes ring through the house, making the rooms sound as if a gong was struck with a club. Music drifts lazily out of my iPad, as if by magic. With a sigh, I settle down farther into my hot pink beanbag and pull up safari on my tablet to post on my blog.

How was THAT. for writing skillz. You know, if you're "cool" these days, you spell like an idiot. Just think about it! "EZ" "skillz" "kewl" "4". It's really lame once you think about it. They do it 4 convenience and because they want to show off their kewl skillz. Ok, it not really lame. It's SUPERlame.

Yep, another part of my blog. NEW NEW NEW NEW!!! Full of fashion tidbits, this little weekly thing will tell you all you need to know about the latest fashion from the professional - and she's who this article is about!

Average Middle Schooler or Professional Fashionista?

A local 6th grader, Noelle M., has proved her talent in more than one field - she is a dedicated blogger (www afbratlife.blogspot.com), pianist and bassoonist, an artist, news writer, to-be author of three separate books, and a faithful bookworm. Despite all these accomplishments, Noelle is a perfectly normal girl, who goes to school at SHAPE Academy. But now, in an exclusive interview, she reveals yet another talent. Here is the interviewer herself, Jenna Y., describing her confrontation with Noelle.

The twelve-year-old girl was very pleasant to me and invited me in at once. For the interview, she took me to the household study, where the walls were stacked with books. The computer, where (as she told me) she did 75% of her school work and spends most of her free time, was up and running. A new country radio station was running, a half-finished book in one corner, and a lot of photos. Although the other things were interesting, what caught my interest was the photos. They were all downloaded to her desktop - all fifty of them! Dresses, drawings, heels, necklaces, scarves, and all kinds of stuff. What they all in common was that they were all fashion photos.

I asked her why she had these unusual photos on her desktop. With a sparkle in her eye, she disappeared momentarily and returned with a notebook. The cover was pasted all over with similar photos. Notebook paper stuck out of it at at least three places. She smiled and opened it.

Interviewer: So you’re a fashion designer!?

Noelle: That’s a way to put it...I like to call it ‘professional fashionista’.

Interviewer: This is an interesting turn of events! What do you design?

Noelle: See for yourself!

I.: For a middle schooler, that’s impressive! I’m surprised that you haven’t made it to red carpet yet - do you have friends in high places who can get you there?

N.: Maybe...have you heard of Ali Bayse?

Ali Basye, currently teaching the history of fashion at a Seattle college, turns out to be Noelle’s second cousin and inspiration. Although Ali’s degree is in textile design, she tells Noelle all about the newest fashion and advises her about her designs.

I.: Well, Noelle, I don’t know what to say…. Actually, I do. Do you know what you want to be when you grow up? I bet ‘professional fashionista’!

N.: Who says I have to wait until then?

I.: That wraps up our interview, Noelle. Hope to see some of those outfits on the catwalk!

Bullying again?

About a Month ago,
I completed an extremely frustrating, mind boggling, filled-with-many-sighs project on bullying. We had to come up with a program to stop bullying and I got stuck with a extremely stubborn AND lazy group - not a good combo! Surprisingly, the website we made to present our information actually looked good, and I wanted to !click> share <click! this website with you.

Yawn….crud, I'm out of my favorite crystal light flavor…. Maybe some tea?

Have you read Artemus Fowl…anyone? It's actually a series that involves fairies, a criminal mastermind, and a different way of looking at the world. It's actually quite interesting.

Another good book is Keeper of the Lost Cities. I got it for my birthday (along with a zip line and a programable robot) and spent the next week reading it like my life depended on it. It was really "fun". You would like it if you think that dinosaurs are fluffy…:-). No, really!

It's been a little bit….
Sorry! I've been really busy with school work and all…plus, I'm a part time fashion designer (albeit a slightly wonky one) Btw, if you click on a link and came here, good job!

These two (known as the "Robot skin suit" and the "leaf dress") are some of my favorites! I so wish I could get these on the market….

The "Tree dress" is a little wacky, with its ring (as the notes say) "general fluff" and the sudden flare at the bottom, but I could SO see this on the red carpet. But then again, the stuff that makes it to the red carpet these days tend to show a lot more skin….

The dragon dress. As my critic, J.M. (aka mom) says "Impressive". I said "Is this a sign I'm going mad?" (that's not a bad thing btw!)

I never said I was normal!

For a school project, I have to create a coat of arms. I actually am going to make a whole crest, including a pair of pronghorns, my own personal trade mark and motto (Lorem ispum et genus {home is family}), a horny toad, Phoenix, and a black swan. Once I get my grade, I'm going to take it home and hang it up in my room where I can see it every day. Cool, huh? It might add to the worldly-ness of my room….

Recently I've been really into designing, listening to New Country music, and surfing the internet, specifically to learn the 2013 fall dress fads for designing. I actually made two "Fashion Inspire Pages". You can do it too! Here's how:

You'll Need:

A computer
Access to the internet
Access to a color printer
Scissors
Glue
Paper, or the cover of a notebook
Pencils (colored and regular)
About an hour of time

Here's how to do it:

Surf the internet (Google images is good) for photos of outfits, dresses, hair styles, heels, jewelry, nail designs, or some combo there of. If you design women's clothing, be VERY careful what you search for.
If you're having trouble coming up with what to search, click here: top ten fashion designers! Find your designer, and search for his/her designs. Or you could try Anna Sui, who is my favorite designer.
Still having trouble? Try searching for drawings, or collections, or if you have a particular style you have trouble drawing, search that. I seriously suggest you check out "crazy high heels". You would be surprised what people do to their poor feet (even if it does look great - I really like designing heels that probably give people ankle issues).
Each time you find a photo you really like, save it to your desktop or to a folder.
Take all those photos and put them on a document. Size them the way you want them (your favorites bigger?)
Click the button. The one labeled "print".
Cut out all those photos - I know it's a pain….
Glue those photos on that piece of paper or notebook cover. Collage them all crazy - upside down? One on top of each other?
Pencil little notes all over. (ex. "I <3 this!" "Crocodile skin rocks" "Goldfish? Seriously?")
If it's a notebook cover, be sure to put your name on it! If it's just a piece of paper, staple it into your fashion notebook, give it to me, or put it up on your already sagging pin board.

Here's what it looks like when your done:

This is on the cover of my notebook. This is the first time I had done something like this,
so this is actually pretty good. Notice the variety of styles, colors, and sizes of photos.

This is my second Fashion Inspire Page (maybe we should just call it "FIP") and I stapled it
into my notebook. My favorite photos are at the edges or in the middle, and are usually bigger.

I'm done now.
