Musings

Hello!
Noelle here, enjoying her extra long weekend (we have Monday off, which is good because that means I don't have to run a mile)  I survived the first week of school! So, um, I have had my first ad request.

Garage Sale!
Saturday through Sunday, there is a stuff sale at the Kristy court corner home.  If you know where Temple hall highway meets Old Grandbury Rd., please turn down Old Grandbury! Then, directly after that intersection, there will be a road to right (Penny Ct.)  Turn down it, then very turn left down Kristy Ct..   The first house to right, there is a garage sale selling tools, plumbing and electrical things, as well as a 5 ft steam table and three children's car seats.  We also have other misc. items.  Stop by soon, or it will be gone -- we aren't holding for anyone (first come, first serve).  To contact us, call 682-936-9445.  Hurry in now.

That's all for now.  Toodles!

P.s.
Does anyone like the song "All around the world" (by Justin Bieber)?

Musings

Third Time's a Charm...
And today was my third day of school!  For those of you who don't have to write the date on every paper they touch, today is August 28.  So.  About school.

Ok, I have eight classes (and eight teachers) three before lunch and five after.  So here they are.

  1. ELA (english), taught by Ms. Williams.  Although there's nothing to love about it, it is a good way to start my day.  Ms. W has a slightly high pitched voice though.
  2. S.S. (social studies or history), taught by Coach Hopkins.  Fun and engaging, but my partner is a ding-a-ling.  As Mr. Hopkins says: "You give me a head ache now and I beat you up in 8th grade athletics!"  (He's pretty fun though)
  3. Math (no way to abbreviate) taught be Ms. Sherril.  She's really nice and I like her a lot, which is good because I don't like math.  However, I have been finding myself looking forward to third period - notice the numbers - because the stuff we are doing is EASY.  Heck, we're learning about factors.  Yes, factors.  I learned about that in third grade.  Pick it up people (as in the kid named Scottt {extra T is intentional} who thinks I'm a math whiz, which is a story I will tell you about later).  Byt, the next thing is lunch, but since its...lunch and it's not a period I'll skip it.
  4. Band (again, no abbreviation) taught by Mr. Morgan and Ms. Bosh.  Slow, but interesting.  For those of you who don't know, I'll be playing bassoon.  Yes, I switched to baboon bassoon yesterday.  :-)  While I'm on the subject, Mr. Morgan is scary and Ms. Boch (I nearly wrote Spock) looks like Aunt...Cousin...Second Cousin (???) Ali and I adore her (both of them).
  5. P.E. (physical training and wellness, also know as smelly sock class and gym) taught by Coach Gattis.  Luckily, the boys and the girls split up (>sigh<) and go to separate gyms.  However I'm a little worried, because every Monday we run a MILE.  You military folk (you know who you are <3) should be able to do that easy peasy but 11 and 12 year old girls....  It should be more like easy pukey!  Coach Gattis needs to work on her sharp tongue.
  6. Science. Taught by Coach Carter, who treats us like 3d graders and lectures our buts off.  :(  I really would like to enjoy science, but I can't help but feel gloomy after gym.
  7. Advisory, which for now is by Mr. Carpenter.  It's like homeroom.
  8. Ms. Sparks.  Tech Ap.  I really do NOT like it.  We spent the last two days looking at a boring slide show on rules, she's really strict and makes you feel guilty (even when you haven't done anything wrong {yet}).  Not a great way to end the day.
My classes.  Ok.  Let me tell you real quick about Scottt and his friend Jayden.  :-)  They are in my math class, and "Scottt" is in my Tech.  The first day of school I scared the heck out of Jaydon, so I was "scary", and Jaydon pointed out his name was spelled with an O.  The next day I whipped through the factors (!) and so I was the "math whiz".  I also pointed out that Scott has spelled his name with three T's (ha!)  He said after class that I was his math tutor.  And today, I met him twice.   I was given permanent seating away from those two @#$%*! and so I tapped him on the shoulder today and said Now I can't be your math tutor.  He frowned, but before he could answer my possible friend Evelyn said " can I call you Freckles?"  "No!"  "Shorty?"  "No." "Bob?" "N-" "Yes I'll call you Bob.  Hi Bob!"  So when he came up to the top row to turn in some papers, I said, "hi Bob."  and he said "hi math tutor.

Ok, I really have to go :-(.  Later Gator.

Who Needs the Store? new!

Fashion Tips and Flower Pot Fun!
Fashion is something I'm really in to, I like to design, and I also like to write up tips on how to make your outfit look the way you want it to!  So here are a couple of those fashion tips I like to write.

How to Change Formal to Flare: copied and edited from my journal

A classic women's formal outfit: a stiff short-sleeve high-collar shirt and a plain rigid skirt, ankle-length or knee length.  High heels and a small plain hand bag.  However, this tight-fitting outfit can be easily changed for a business woman with a sense of design.  I'm here to tell you how!  Throw in one or more of the following items:  large eye-catching jewelry, a floppy, low-hanging handbag, sandals, a brightly colored matching scarf, or a thick belt.  For even stronger flare, change out that plain skirt for a patterned one, (even if it is simple) or change the hem of the shirt.  Mix and match!  Figure out which accessories match your style.  There you have it!  While still wearing your business attire, you added accessories to make it very fashionable and a little less formal.

DIY Flower Pot Pencil Holder:

These do-it-yourself art instructions will tell you how to make a cute pencil holder with stuff that any art lover should have around the house (unless you are a pottery person, and then you might want to take a trip to Michael's).

What You Will Need:

  • A tin can (cleaned, no lid)
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Tape
  • Colored card stock  (pink or purple, green, and some other color)
  • Creativity
  • 45 minutes

Instructions:

  1. Make sure your tin can if totally clean.  The wrapper doesn't need to be taken off!
  2. Carefully take your pink or purple card stock and wrap into a cone.  Tape and trim.
  3. Repeat step two four times.
  4. Glue your four cones together (careful!  Paper will not keep you from burning your fingers!).  If you want to, glue along each seam to reenforce.
  5. Glue your cone cluster into the tin can, point down.  (again, be careful!)  This will be tricky!
  6. Cut your green paper into two isosceles triangles, glue into the tin can so the pointy end sticks up.  Bend the ends so they stick out.
  7. Use your other color to cover the outside of the tin can.  I did it in strips that over lapped horizontally, but do yours any way for want.
  8. There you have it!  Just stick your pens into the 'flowers' and you'll be done.  Be creative and post in you ideas!

AF Brat Life Alert

New Organization!
Thinking last night I decided on a new way of organizing my blog!  Don't worry, it's won't change that much, just the way each post is titled.

At the top of this post, you see two titles: one is purple and another black or what ever color this text is (?).  The one at the top should say "AF Brat Life Alert".  Why does any of this matter?  Well, from now on the one at the very top, the  one that says AF Brat Life Alert (that is a mouthful) will tell you what section of my blog you are about to read.  Below that title (TA, let's call it), you'll see TB, which says "New Organization".  This will tell you the particular subject from that section

Current Sections:
"Musings"
"Bling's-the-Thing"
"AF Brat Life Alert"
new! "Who Needs the Store"

Who Needs the Store:
This new section is DIY art fun and fashion advice (by ME!).  In fact, my next post is going to be a very long post of Who Needs the Store.

Toodles for two minutes, Noelle.

Welcome to Paridise!πŸ˜„πŸ’πŸŒ΄

🌴Paridise rocks...
It turns out that it really rocks.  Surrounded by coconut-growing palm trees (does this make them coconut trees?), yards away from what has to be the largest pool in history, and smelling the tang of ocean air while sitting on your porch is awesome, trust me.  Even if the involved porch is only rented.

It just occured to me that practically all my readers have no clue what I'm talking about.  Allow me to explain:  I'm in Roatan, the beachy jungley island off the coast of Honduras.  We dragged Dad kicking and screaming here (although I don't want to see the bill myself) and we are all enj lying he snorkeling, sand, surf, and sun.  (Well, not the sun.  Dad and I are both sunburned.  Mom isn't because mom isn't really  a beachy person)  Unfortunatly, I can't bring back a conch or "buh-nan-nuh donuts", or even the excellent lemonade they have here (fresh squeezed) but I am bringing back bits of coral, shells, and one tile scavenged by Dad during snorkeling (later to be found to belong to the pool😒).

Well that's all for now.  Toodles, until I get back to Texas....! 🌴🌴🌴🌞🌊

No Clue What To Write....

As My Title Says...
I have no clue what to write, so I might just say my mind.  To tell the truth, my mind is on Bling's-the-Thing!  So I'll tell you what my accessories store is going to sell next!
You probably have all heard of the 'Natty Necklace Sale".  (all courtesies to mom, she came up with the sale name)  My update yesterday may have said it all to my customers, but not for my readers!
The voting will decide what my 'new' product will be after the Natty Necklace Sale.  If you people vote pendant or bracelet, I'll make some kind of new pendant.  Mom found some stuff on Pinterest for me.  I could make bracelets or pendants with sparkles, overlapping leads shapes, hearts, or a two-tone 'snake knot' pendant.  Same with bracelets.  Or mom found a recipe one how to turn popsicle sticks into bangles.  Or I could do bracelets with rings.  Or I haves some Ideas for necklaces.  I could extend the Natty Necklace Sale.  Or I could try my luck at making coin purses and phone wallets (clip on too).  There are a whole lot of directions Bling's-the-Thing could go.  All you have to do is vote.
Also, if you have heard of the Natty Necklace Sale, you have heard the new Special Edition Orders.  You can post your fave color combo (anywhere in between 2 to 5 colors!) and if at least two people like it, it'll become a Special Edition.  If within that month some one buys a Special Edition, it'll continue till the next month.  Etc.
Since this is probably getting boring for my readers, you may stop reading me pressuring you now.  Toodles!
