The Answers for Some of the Mystery Questions...
Q:  When Does A Bill Become a Beak on a Bird?
A:  The truth is there is no difference!  Bill is generally accepted as a scientific term, were as beak is a 'normal' word.  A.K.A. spoken by us people who don't have a p.h.d. in science.

Q:  Why Does Monopoly have Such Weird Playing Tokens?
A:  To answer this, it's time for some history.  In the early 1930's, "inventor" (he actually borrowed from two existing games) Charles Darrow self-published his game 'Monopoly'.  The great success of the game brought the attention of the Parker Brothers, who bought the rights to Monopoly in 1934.  When the Parkers bought the game, the instructions told you to use buttons or beads.  So in the 1935-1936 used wooden tokens that looked like pawns.  Chess pawns.  Did I say boring?  Boring.  So the Parker Bro's made metal tokens in the shapes of a car, flatiron, lantern, thimble, shoe, top hat, and rocking horse.  Later, a battleship and cannon were added - 10 tokens.  The lantern, purse and rocking horse were kicked out in favor of the horse and rider, dog, and wheel barrow.  Finally a sack of money was added to promote the true spirit of the game.  So no tokens, to boring ones, to cool ones.  Maybe we'll have electronic boards with hologram projectors attached.  You tap the start square to start and each person says an image.  Then you tap your way around the board.  COOL!

TORNADOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Tornado Watch.....
Yesterday we had a variety of weather:

  1. Sun
  2. Cloudy
  3. Sunny and Breezy
  4. Cloudy and Breezy
  5. Rain
  6. Hail
  7. Thunderstorm
  8. Tornado
Oh My!
Don't worry every one:  the hail was pea-sized, the tornado touched down ten miles away, and the worst that happened to us was that one of our favorite shows was interrupted, and we're not even sure if that was caused by the storm.

Moving on to other subjects....

I read a series called the Imponderables books.  In these books, they ask some odd questions....

  • When does a bill become a beak on a bird?
  • Why does Monopoly have such odd playing tokens?
  • Why do we cry at happy endings?
  • Which fruits are in Juicy Fruit chewing gums?
  • Who are all the people on the sidelines in a football game?
  • And What is the difference between an introduction, a preface, and a foreword in a book?
If any of you know the answers, post them in the comments, or if you're curious, read my next post.
Their is a website I like called FreeRice.  You answer simple questions and the questions get progressively harder.  For each right answer, 10 grains of rice are donated for hungry people.  If you want to check it out, click here.

Just wanted to let you guys know that this is an open house!  We have a guest bedroom that is completely empty.  Also, we are having a party here on the 26, the day before Memorial Day.  That is ten days from now.  There will be grilling, games, swimming, music, and our next door neighbors are going to stop in and they MIGHT bring their horse cody.  For those of you who like horses, he is 17 hands!

People, feel free to be social on here.  Post!

Well, I hope you liked the latest post.  I will get back to you soon.

Hang loose man!

"Hey, Man!"
I was just in a play/workshop.  We put on a one time show call "Blackbeard the Pirate"!  There were several parts - parrots (all the little kids), sea weed creatures, sailors,  crocs, crabs, mermaids, beach bums (lazy, lazy) beach bums, and of course...
Pirates! ("Let's get out of here!")
Anyway, I was a beach bum (3# actually!) and I had lots of lines.  So, you know, I was awesome.  Naturally.  Totally.  I rocked!  You want my autograph?  OK, I wasn't exactly the star of the show ("How is that possible?!") but then again, we made everyone say "Wow."
In case you're wondering, all of these "quotes" are from the play.  So hang loose and hang tight, I don't care, be prepared to be swept off the cliff in theatrics.

Lights!  Camera!  ACTION!

Monday, Auditions.  Parrots, Sea weed creatures, crocs, crabs and mermaids are sent home after auditions.  Beach Bums and Pirates stay and practice in separate rooms.  Tuesday, a two-hour practice for the SeaWeedCreatures, sailors, and mermaids.  They leave and the pirates, beach bums, crabs, and crocs all practice for two hours.  Wednesday, ENTIRE CAST!!!  We do the entire show with lot's of stop-and-fix-its.  Parrots leave, the rest of us eat dinner. We go through play all over again.  Thursday, ENTIRE CAST!!!  We do the whole thing, eat, then do it again.  Friday, ENTIRE CAST!!!  We go through the play once in costume, then eat.  We do makeup, try to be quiet for two hours (yah, right) then (dun-dun-duuuuuh) the PLAY!!!!!  THE ACTUAL THING!!!!  Friday, 8:20 PM, photo call, costumes are changed out of, scripts and costumes are turned in.  9:10 We're home!

My DREAM House

I Felt Like...
describing, detail for detail, my dream home, so if you are not in the mood for lots of nonsense, go read the apple news website or something.  Now, before you get hooked!

Zone 1, the foyer:
The foyer is a small room made to impress business people who come to call.  Vaulted ceilings and a custom made stair case.  Directly in front of you when you walk in the door is the shoe/coat closet, with two entrances.  One opens up to the hallway, the other to the foyer.  There is no door going to the hallway.  I believe in open concept.  A lot.  Next to the coat closet is the main floor powder room.  There is a door to the front porch.

Gotta go.  Come back for more zones from noelle!

What Should I Write?

...

I have no clue what to write, just felt like writing, so I came here.  You might know the feeling.  Anyway I was looking around and found that some people are really great artists - see above.  I personally can't draw that well.  Some anatomy questions...  How does a dragon breath fire?  I think it has a flamable chemical that can be set off, and a 'fire gland' that produces such.  When a dragon wants to produce fire, it can use static electricity to ignite the chemical in it's throat, the shoot out the burning chemical at 150 mph, creating a burst of flame.  Smart, aren't I?

Anyway, I'm bored, so I'll go do something.  Sorry for the shortness of this, you understand I hope.  (PS, Dad leaves again on Sunday!)
