Riddle Quest Millions

Riddles Galore!
I’m going to post the next riddle for riddle quest, but first let me go over the rules first.  The idea of riddle quest is to solve all the riddles I post until I call it off (ignore anything before 2014, I’ve tried this before but they aren’t part of the current contest).  When I do call it off, you have a week to email me (skoshimom@gmail.com) your answers in order.  The person who gets the most correct (or close to correct) gets the SUPERsecret prize pack that of course I’ve actually made by now!!!  I wouldn’t have forgotten about that right!!!  Anyway, you MUST have all the answers, even if they are not correct, to even qualify.  You may work together.  Spamming me with multiple answer-emails will disqualify you.

Ok, here’s the next riddle you’ve all been waiting for.

I march on a million feet
On wind, water and earth
I help by quarreling
I have lived longer than all
Though I’ve died a million times
Protecting the law

What am I?

So my friends have some problems solving these so let me help you out with this one (JUST THIS ONE!!!).  Tip: To find ALL the riddles, just look for Riddle Quest in the labels app (to the right).  I’ll walk you through this one.  Ok, let’s start with the first line.

I march on a million feet.  So whatever this is, it marches, and the ‘feet’ could be interpreted as the length feet or the the body part feet.  Either way, what ever it is, it marches on a million of ‘feet’.

Second line:  This whole line is important.  The…thing…doesn’t just march on a million feet, it also marches ON (prepositions are killers when it comes to riddles) wind, water and earth.  This leads me to believe that the feet in line one are probably body parts, not a distance.  So what ever it is, it marches on wind (in the air), water (perhaps on boats?) and on earth (land, basically).

Let’s move on: third line.  I help by quarreling.  So the thing helps.   How does it help?  By quarreling?  It might help to look at the synonyms of quarreling.  Ah!  Quarreling can also be interpreted as fighting or a clash.  So what do we have so far?  The thing marches with  a million feet in the air, on boats, and on the land, and it helps by fighting.

You may know the answer by now, but let’s keep going.  I have lived longer than all.  Well then.  That’s pretty straight forward.  Why did I underline the all then?  Well this could be seen in different ways.  It could be saying that it has lived longer than ANYONE, or it could be saying it was around when the world began.  We really can’t figure this out right now, so let’s the examine the next line.
Though I’ve died a million times.  So the thing has dies a million times.  A million?  Where do I remember that from.  The first line mentioned marching on a million feet!

I’m going to let you figure this out yourself.  Remember - prioritize, summarize, get the prize.  Catchy, huh?

By the way, I make all of my riddles up myself, so there’s no point in asking around…unless you want to share that prize pack.

I’m so glad you decided to join this Riddle Quest.  Be sure to tell your friends about it, or else it won’t be any fun!  Even if you’re not very good at riddles, at least give it a try.

I want to do more reader participation contests similar to this Riddle Quest.  That will be part of the reader-feedback survey that you should be getting soon.  Sorry about all those pestering emails, but please answer them so I know that somebody reads my blog.  If it makes it easier, follow my blog by email, and avoid browsers all together.  Don’t forget to comment and to visit my other blog, internationalbffs.blogspot.com!
See you!
